Lipstick vines make great beginner houseplants, with tropical foliage and small tubular flowers that can bloom several times a year. These evergreen perennials are epiphytic in nature, meaning that they cling onto trees and rocks and therefore need a fast-draining soil when kept as houseplants. They are tolerant of lower light situations, and if kept in a warm, bright spot with enough humidity, will bloom much of the year.
